About TMO

TMO stood out to me because of its emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration and improving patient care. I was especially drawn to the organization’s focus on bringing together students from different healthcare professions to discuss clinical topics and learn from one another’s perspectives. I also appreciate that TMO creates opportunities for students across different schools to connect and collaborate in ways that extend beyond the classroom.

Daniel brings a community-centered and service-driven perspective to TMO. As a medical student at UCSF from the Central Valley, he is passionate about addressing health disparities in underserved communities and improving access to healthcare education. His background in microbibiology, immunology, molecular genetics, and community-based clinical volunteering reflects his commitment to both science and service.

I joined TMO to help connect dental students to interprofessional opportunities that support the development of well-rounded clinicians. I firmly believe that every healthcare professional plays a vital role in bridging the gap between research, innovation, and clinical care, and I’m excited to help spread this mentality to the UCSF dental school community through my role on the TMO board!

I am incredibly passionate about bridging the gaps between the compelling science we discover in the lab and ensuring that there is clear path to improving the lives of patients. TMO provides a unique opportunity to facilitate community amongst those also interested in exploring the realm of translational medicine.

Himani brings a unique perspective to TMO through her background as a physician-scientist with experience in clinical pharmacology, pharmacovigilance, and drug safety. As a Master of Translational Medicine student at UC Berkeley and UCSF, she has worked on clinical and regulatory strategy for an oncology cell therapy project while continuing to explore how therapies can move from scientific concept to meaningful patient impact.
